David Samadi is a renowned doctor. He serves as the chairman of the urologic department and chief of the department of robotic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. Aside from that, he is a board member of the urologist department, trained to chair critical decision making regarding the diagnosis of bladder cancer, prostate and kidney cancers. Dr. David Samadi also specializes in invasive treatments made for prostate cancer with laparoscopic radical prostatectomy topping the list.
Early Life and Education
Dr. Samadi was born in a Jewish community. He grew up in Iran until when he turned 15 years old and moved to London with his brother. At that moment, they joined a school in Belgium to finish their high school education. Later on, they moved to America. David Samadi was ready to enter college. He enrolled at the prestigious Stony Brook University where he majored in bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. Since he had earned a full scholarship, he was free to join high-profile institutions. Consequently, he advanced his education by joining Montefiore Medical Center for urology studies in 2000. In 2001, Dr. Samadi joined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for radical prostatectomy fellowship. He pursued the course under the leadership of Professor Claude Abbou.
Samadi first worked at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. In 2007, he joined Mt. Sinai School of Medicine as the vice president of the urology department. At the same time, he served as the head of robotics and invasive surgery. Having garnered extensive experience as the head cheerleader of robotics department, Samadi was fit to handle additional senior positions. That is why he moved his staff to Lenox Hill Hospital when he was appointed the head cheerleader of urology in addition to robotic surgery. In 2013, he was trusted with another role as the professor of urology at the prestigious Hofstra North Shore –LIJ, an institution that teaches medicine.
Samadi has been on the frontline of fighting for better healthcare, especially for cancer patients. That is why in August 2013, he was a guest on Fox & Friends. This is a morning television show that discusses health issues. On the segment, David Samadi supported the fact that men should also be allowed to receive treatment at affordable health insurance rates.
