Dr. Avi Weisfogel owned a dental practice in Old Bridge, New Jersey for 15 years starting in 1999. He opened the practice after earning his DDS from the New York University College of Dentistry. He was very successful as a dentist, earning the designation of Best Dentist in the region several times. Although he was very successful as a dentist, his true passion lied in helping people who suffer from sleep disorders and the ways that dentists could help them.

In order to follow his passion for helping people with sleep disorders, Dr. Weisfogel started a company in 2010 he named Healthy Heart Sleep. This firm put sleep labs directly into doctor’s offices where they could study their patients in their sleep and come up with individualized plans to address the disorder. Unfortunately, as Dr. Weisfogel admits, he was late to this market and his company was unsuccessful. Not one to be deterred, he founded another company in 2012 called Owner Unlimited Sleep Patient where he went around the country helping dentists treat sleep disorders as well as showing them how they could increase the business at their practices by identifying people with sleep disorders, especially the dangerous condition known as sleep apnea, and then addressing their medical needs.

Today, Dr. Avi Weisfogel owns and operates Dental Sleep Masters which is based in New Jersey. He has focused in on sleep apnea and ways that dentists can treat this condition. Sleep apnea is a dangerous condition as people who suffer from it stop breathing repeatedly through the night and often for long periods of time. Not breathing can result in a lack of oxygen, especially to the brain, which creates a host of health concerns including strokes, brain disorders, heart disease, and potentially death.

Dr. Avie Weisfogel has pointed to research that shows that 90% of the people who have sleep apnea have been undiagnosed with the condition. He helps dentists identify patients who have this and shows them how dental appliances can provide effective treatment. In this way he has saved countless lives, a thing that drives his passion to save even more through his important work.
