Researchers in Europe and the U.S. have recently published a series of studies in “The Annals of Internal Medicine” revealing a growing number of associations linking coffee to a healthier lifestyle. Among the benefits of coffee drinking revealed in the two studies is the finding of those who drank two or more coffees each day having lower risks of developing certain forms of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Lead researcher, Veronica W. Setiawan of the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California explained there does appear to be a link between a longer life and coffee drinking which cannot be definitely proven without further research being completed.
The study completed by the University of Southern California was one of the most thorough having taken place over 16 years. The second study included a large number of individuals drawn from ten European countries who reported changes in their health and the number of cups of coffee consumed each day.
