Jeremy Goldstein is a collegiate over-achiever and corporate attorney extraordinaire. Looking at his college work ethic and past career accomplishments, it’s no surprise he’s considered the premier executive compensation and corporate governance lawyer in the state of New York. Jeremy Goldstein’s illustrious career began after earning his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law.
He started working at a specialized law firm that was considered one of the best in the city. While sharpening his skills, he began noticing several executive compensation consulting firms branching out on their own and finding success as independent organizations. He wondered if he could do the same thing with an entire law firm.
Ten years ago, he established Jeremy L. Goldstein and Associates, a boutique law firm that helps corporations, CEOs, compensation committees, and management teams with matters on executive compensation, corporate governance, and other sensitive matters such as mergers and acquisitions.
While working at the previous firm, Jeremy Goldstein’s focus was mergers and acquisitions. As he began developing his own way of interacting with clients, he learned new skills. Eventually, his expertise would make him the go-to guy in New York when corporations and CEOs needed corporate legal advice.
When he’s not working with clients or speaking on matters of executive compensation and corporate governance, he’s working with the Fountain House, a locally-founded charity dedicated to the recovery of men and women suffering from mental illness. Fountain House got its name from the first official building used for its mission, which had a fountain in front of it.
Fountain House is also dedicated to removing the stigma around mental illness. The hardest part of recovery is rebuilding lost confidence, and that’s nearly impossible in a society where sufferers are still too afraid to speak openly about their struggles.
According to the World Health Organization, 25 percent of people will experience struggles with mental illness at some point in their lives. In response, Fountain House held the world’s first Healthier Longer Lives for People with Serious Mental Illnesses conference. They gathered over 300 mental health experts and partnered with the World Health Organization’s Collaborating Centre for Global Mental Health.
Jeremy Goldstein’s contribution to Fountain House comes in the form of extravagant wine dinners for some of New York’s elite socialites. This year’s gala is on top of the Nomad Hotel overlooking the New York skyline and will feature some of the finest E. Guigal wine vintages possible.
