He followed this up by getting his PhD in Cardiology from the same institute. After graduating, he was appointed to the post of associate professor at the New York Medical College. He worked here for a few years before he decided to join the Ordway Research Institute in Albany New York. It is in 20008 that he got his appointment as a researcher at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, a position that he is still holding up to date. He has been researching on the causes of the cancer menace and the different therapies that can be used to offer protection to the normal cells from the damaging effects that come from cancer.
